Kite Chain launched its mainnet alongside the Kite Agent Passport, an identity and payments infrastructure designed specifically for autonomous artificial intelligence agents. The company is transitioning from its testnet phase into a production environment.
Kite Chain operates as the ecosystem’s native settlement layer, processing payments in digital dollars and connecting with traditional banking systems. The Kite Agent Passport, in turn, grants AI agents a programmable and secure wallet to manage funds and make purchases on behalf of users, who retain full control over spending limits and authorized destinations. A third layer, called Agent Interface & Experience, allows agents and developers to interact with the system through agent registration, harnesses, and service discovery.
The platform already integrates more than 90 service providers and spans use cases ranging from shopping and travel planning to automated agentic workflows. Kite Chain is also a unified hub for the leading payment protocol standards, including x402, Google’s AP2 protocol, Stripe’s Machine Payment Protocol, and Anthropic’s Model Context Protocol.
